Siobhan Power came to the BCSR in 2006 as a part-time Survey Administrator for the New Jersey Middle School Risk and Protective Factor Survey and the New Jersey Student Health Survey. In 2008, she joined the center full-time as a Research Project Assistant, and was promoted to Research Project Coordinator in 2011 and to Assistant Director of Education Research in 2015. Ms. Power oversees all aspects of data collection and analysis for the Abstinence Education Evaluation Project, New Jersey School Climate Survey, New Jersey Student Health Survey, New Jersey Middle School Risk and Protective Factor Survey, New Jersey Post School Outcomes Survey and the New Jersey School Health Profiles Survey. She also serves as the BCSR liaison with the Rutgers University Institutional Review Board, managing all applications, amendments and continuing reviews for 20+ open research protocols to ensure compliance with human subjects research requirements. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University, Douglass College in 2010.
Ms. Power is a member of the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Through her work with AFSP, Ms. Power presents the More than Sad: Preventing Teen Suicide and Talk Saves Lives programs to high school students, administrators and parents across the state.
