Research Project Coordinator
Karina Veliz joined the BCSR in 2008 as an interviewer for the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS), a joint research project between the state departments of health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). As a Research Project Coordinator, she oversees all phases of data collection for multiple PRAMS studies. This includes monitoring project activities, tracking response rates, and working closely with state clients to ensure all projects are in full compliance with CDC and IRB protocols. In addition, Ms. Veliz has developed and implemented practices and policies regarding the recruitment and supervision of PRAMS staff. Ms. Veliz received her Ed.M. from the Rutgers Graduate School of Education in 2017 and her B.A. in English from Rutgers University in 2012.
