Carla Palomino joined the BCSR in 2015. Ms. Palomino currently works as Research Project Assistant in the Maternal and Child Health Unit. She primarily works on the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS), a surveillance study sponsored by the CDC and various state health departments. Among her duties are collecting highly sensitive and confidential data, training and managing part time staff, and ensuring all phases of data collection adhere to various state protocols and human subject regulations. As a bilingual speaker, Ms. Palomino translates and reviews documents from English to Spanish and administers surveys to Spanish-speaking participants. Through these efforts, Ms. Palomino is instrumental in ensuring the unit collects quality data on infant and maternal health and reaches its project goals. Ms. Palomino received her B.S in Health Administration from Rutgers University in 2017.
